Nominations Update for the Control Room Awards 2018

Judges inundated with nominations recognising over 200 unsung heroes across emergency and critical sector control rooms

The Control Room Awards, which we launched in November 2017, are the first to recognise and reward the unsung heroes within critical control rooms across the UK. The event has been endorsed by several emergency services organisations, including British APCO, and is being supported by a handful of generous sponsors – telent as the platinum partner, alongside Sopra Steria, Seed Software, ICCRA and Red Box Recorders.

The nominations period is now closed, and since opening, over two hundred submissions were received from over forty organisations across various emergency and critical sectors including the police, fire and ambulance services. Each nomination recognises particularly special control room personnel – individuals and teams - who support their communities every day.

The final shortlist will be announced on 1 February 2018. The judging panel, which comprises six esteemed members, will choose three finalists for each of the nine categories, each of whom will be invited to an exclusive awards event on Thursday 8 March 2018 at the luxury De Vere Orchard Hotel, Nottingham. The evening will include a three course meal, awards ceremony and live entertainment.
