Here at APD, we’re switched-on and passionate about what we do. You could say we’re the quirky creative types, techie gurus, connoisseurs. Personally, we call ourselves geeks with goals | G.W.A.G
A 'Geek' is someone who is obsessively passionate about their field of work, and they have been from an early age. It's just part of their DNA. They want to progress and develop their knowledge about their subject, and will spread the gospel wherever they go.
The 'Goal' bit is obvious. If you’re a G.W.A.G, you love to learn and improve at all times. You'll live to achieve great things and are not content with mediocre.
Let us give you some examples
The Finance G.W.A.G is a mathematician, a full-time number cruncher who's financial wizardry doesn’t stop – you’ll often see a Finance geek running a detailed financial forecast for their home spending, or setting their own financial target for their 2022 holiday to The Caribbean.
The Project Management G.W.A.G keeps us shipshape. They love a system, a master plan for the project. They are most satisfied at the helm, bringing an event together and watching it unfold to be a great success.
Our Customer Support G.W.A.G is the champion of the people. They listen and diagnose problems. They get a real buzz out of making things “better” for the customer. We call them our happiness heroes, and so do our customers.
If this resonates with you, we want to hear from you and we want to hire you. In fact, even if there’s no vacancy, we want to meet you. Why? Because you are rare. To get in touch regarding a job at APD or to apply for a role, please email email@example.com.

Women in tech
Our workforce is diverse, and we’re proud of that. In particular, we’re passionate about addressing the gender imbalance in the tech and engineering industries.
Nationally, only 13% of jobs in the STEM sectors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) are held by women. At APD, 25% of our roles are filled by women. What’s more, 57% of our management team are female, compared with the national figure that only 9% of senior roles in the tech sector are held by women.
With roles in every department - from software and hardware engineering, to sales, HR and finance, there’s something for everyone.
Our culture is fun, fast paced and no day is ever the same. There are over 100 of us all committed to creating great technology and delivering amazing customer service. We power some of the most important organisations in the world, so whilst we like to have fun, we take our work seriously and only the best will do. Like all great artists and engineers we sign our work with pride and we make excellence a habit.
Our home is Newlands Science Park on Hull University campus, right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the UK City of Culture. Hull is where our roots are and we're proud to be from here.
