APD's Benefits
APD Resource Location gives you real-time monitoring, highlighting unauthorised stops, unauthorised entry and route compliance.
Driver security is enhanced with the installation of emergency buttons, which can be wearable or installed in the dashboard of the vehicles. Using our advanced technology, control room operators can see when a vehicle has arrived at the correct destination and remotely release vehicle locks for additional load security.
In the 'Cash in Transit' market, the demands are arduous, with multi-drop trips and deliveries and collections to High Street locations where access can be restricted. Our geo-fencing capability provides an automatic warning of vehicles being used outside a pre-determined route.
Information gathered through vehicle tracking can be used to analyse time spent at delivery points and routes taken to reduce mileage, minimise fuel consumption and increase transport utilisation.
Communication in real-time via mobile data terminals allows information to be fed back to central systems instantly, removing the need for manual input or re-keying of critical information. Manifests can be automatically downloaded on arrival or departure and drivers can be re-routed in real-time in case of emergency situations.
Stolen vehicles can be located and recovered quickly.
Case Study
The most advanced location solution for Government use in Scandinavia
Iceland's emergency services introduced TETRA technology to develop an advanced computer and telematics system which includes geographical information and vehicle tracking. Icelandic GIS specialists, HNIT's 'SiteWatch' command and control system, verifies incoming calls to the emergency number (112) through a database that directs the call to the appropriate service. An incident log is created and passed through to the required service. The location and status of police vehicles, ambulances and fire engines is displayed on the same map screen and the mapping system can be viewed in either plan or photographic form.
With the new system in place it is now much easier for the call takers and dispatchers to do their job more effectively, as detailed information is provided on the status of emergency services vehicles in real-time. With the control room able to view the location of vehicles that are already mobile, they are able to despatch them to an incident immediately.
