APD's Mobile Information Platform provides a flexible solution to meet the needs of both the head office and mobile workers by automating an organisation's service delivery workflow. Using paperless job despatch, time consuming manual re-entry of data is eliminated, with mobile workers feeding information from the field directly into back-office applications and databases. In addition, processes such as timesheet recording and stock control can all be completed without having to return to the office, allowing each operative more time to carry out jobs whilst freeing up staff at the head office.

Our solutions support a wide range of networks such as GPRS, GSM, TETRA, Mobitex, Paknet and mobile data terminals in-car or hand-held PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants). Our mobile data solutions can also be integrated with our resource location and tracking offering, providing organisations with a powerful resource management tool, and allowing head office to allocate jobs based on the automatic location information of their workers.

POLARIS

POLARIS (POLice Access to Remote Information Systems) is a suite of mobile information applications packaged and designed to meet the demanding needs of policing. POLARIS is proven and in daily operational use in the United Kingdom, delivering key information on-demand to frontline officers, Control Room operators and management when they need it, where they need it. The mobile data solution integrates disparate systems, in-house intelligence, Command and Control systems and national databases, under a common secure framework, extending the reach of station-bound systems to frontline officers. POLARIS is available on many wireless networks, including GPRS, Mobitex and TETRA, providing Forces with the flexibility to choose the network(s) that best suit their requirement in terms of security, bandwidth and performance levels.

The POLARIS user interface has been designed to be displayed on a variety of mobile data terminals from in-vehicle touchscreens and tablet PCs, to Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and passport document readers, equipping officers with the most appropriate tools to conduct their policing duties in the field.

In addition to providing officers with "fast time" information, POLARIS also keeps officers out on patrol with its handheld PDA – allowing officers to take statements, issue Fixed Penalty Notices, carry out Stop and Search and complete other standard forms, giving officers more time to carry out their public facing duties.
